2013 brought us some musical highlights – provided the word “highlight” can be used when speaking about Bach’s compositions. However, who would forget Andreas Scholl performing “Vergnügte Ruh, beliebte Seelenlust” BWV 170? Or the bombastic opening chorus of “Wachet! Betet! Betet! Wachet!” BWV 70? Or the langourous aria for soprano, sung by Gerlinde Sämann, of “Süsser Trost, mein Jesus kömmt” BWV 151? The booklets and the bonus material have been redone for this production. A new documentary film in German, English and Spanish (approximately 20 minutes) now shows how our video and audio recordings are made and distributed around the world.
