This performance of the St. John Passion has its own significance: the J. S. Bach Foundation, founded in St. Gallen in 2006, has set itself the goal of performing the complete vocal works of Johann Sebastian Bach within 25 years and documenting them on CDs. A pool of historically and stylistically skilled musicians around the organist and conductor Rudolf Lutz is responsible for this challenging and internationally acclaimed project.
