Bach Meets Rilke: Sandra Richter, “Rainer Maria Rilke or The Open Life”

To mark this year’s Rilke anniversary, three institutions in St. Gallen are coming together to celebrate this “restless spirit”: Sandra Richter, Director of the German Literature Archive in Marbach, will read from her much-praised new Rilke biography at the invitation of the Literaturhaus. Musicians from the J.S. Bach Foundation will interpret Rilke in their own way, and the Abbey Library will host the event in its Baroque hall—providing a setting where poetry, literature, and music can connect across the centuries.
